R&D Technician

R&D Technician/Engineer

We are looking for an experienced R&D (Process) Technician and/or R&D (Process) Engineer to strengthen our research & development team. You will work on the development of polymers and intermediates for novel biomedical and pharmaceutical applications with focus on the chemistry (synthesis) of monomers and polymers. Smart optimization of laboratory syntheses to clean and efficient protocols will be one of your main challenges. Upscaling protocols to safe and robust manufacturing processes will be another. You will also be responsible for selection, testing and qualification of manufacturing equipment. Doing risk assessments and composing user requirement specifications, protocols and reports will complete this great job opportunity.

We work in a modern and quality driven environment, laid out according to ISO 13485 and GMP (ICH Q7). Our R&D facilities and clean rooms are well equipped for all kinds of chemistries up to about 100L and soon 300L scale.

You will participate in one or more project teams and will work under direct supervision of a project manager. You will work in a team of professionals and in close collaboration with colleagues from the manufacturing and analytical departments. We report in English and communicate in both Dutch and English. 

Your background

You are curious and critical to each and every result, possess an excellent analytical thinking ability and are always driven in quickly finding the best fitting solutions. You love to work in the lab experimenting with all kinds of processes and at the same time being equipped with good documentation skills to report the results of your work. You like working in a team, as well as taking initiative and being self-starting.

You should minimally have a bachelor degree in (polymer) chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalents and at least 3 years of industrial experience relevant to PolyVation (life sciences or chemistry). Experience with polymers and familiarity with GxP quality systems will largely strengthen your application.
