Skin and wound care
We are actively involved in developing special polymer materials for advanced skin care and wound care applications. Polymers offer tremendous opportunities for skin and wound care, but are largely underexplored so far. PolyVation has a broad overview of the state-of-the-art in materials science and can therefore act quickly when presented with opportunities that offer real value and novel solutions. Our highly trained staff is capable of handling all stages of the product development process from the initial synthesis of new polymers to the optimization and testing of product formulations.
PolyVation developed a unique family of polymers for skin and wound care:
- Vinyl pyrrolidone maleate copolymers (Aegimertm)
Aegimer vinyl pyrrolidone maleate copolymers are precisely tuneable in hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance. They are ideal for formulating in both water- and oil-based products. The polymers show strong affinity to skin substrates and are tuneable to form protective invisable highly waterproof skin barriers.
Aegimer copolymers are highly interesting materials for many personal care product types as well as cutting edge lubricious medical device coatings.
