QC Scientist

QC Scientist / Analytical Scientist

PolyVation is looking for an experienced QC Scientist to strengthen our team in the analysis and characterization of polymers, intermediates and starting materials. You will be responsible for analytical method development and bringing them towards a validated state meeting the relevant internal and international standards for medical devices or pharmaceutical products.

You will work closely together with the entire QC team, as well as in particular with the R&D and Quality Assurance departments.  

Our QC lab is well equipped with chromatographic equipment (GPC, GC, HPLC) and spectroscopy (NMR, FTIR, UV/vis) as well as other techniques suitable for characterization of polymeric systems (DSC, TGA, rheometer, IV and more).

Responsibilities

  • Execute the full scope of activities in support analyses, equipment or project troubleshooting, development and validation of analytical methods;
  • Interact with the development team for adequate translation of methods and analyses, determine sample preparation strategies and method settings, generate and interpret results and support in defining workable specification windows. 
  • Write documentation related to the development projects: analysis instructions, change requests, design changes, development reports.  

Requirements

  • BSc, MSc or Ph.D. degree in analytical, polymer, organic and/or pharmaceutical chemistry with, preferably, experience in the industry;
  • Proven affinity for and hands-on experience with analytical methods, such as spectroscopy and chromatography.
  • Strong in risk-based method development.
  • Keen on working in an interdisciplinary and international team;
  • Excellent writing skills and fluent in English is mandatory;
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP practices are nice-to-have.
